Happy New Year,
Wow 2008 is already here. Can you believe it ? It felt like just yesterday we were sitting in a stinky old nasty building on St. Joe Ave. talking about a new thing. In case you haven't noticed, we no longer have a stinky old nasty building, and The LifeHouse is only days from being used as a house of prayer and worship and center for social justice. It truly is a new day. A new thing is being birthed. You know, the great thing about New Years is that not only does is allow us to reflect on 2007(the good and the bad) it also forces us to look forward to 2008(a new season). It forces change whether we like it or not. Like writing out 08' on all your checks and paperwork. Don't you hate that? It seems like just when you get used to writing 07 it is already gone and you have to beat 08 into your brain. This is also true for making changes in our walk with God. New Seasons require change and change requires effort. Just like a tree must be pruned to bring good growth, so must our lives. We might have to say goodbye to old ways of doing things. Maybe it is letting go of a person in your life that is holding you back or kicking a bad habit to allow more space for God to work through you. In this new year, this new season, ask God to search your life and show you what is holding you back(more than likely you already know what it is). The hard part is cutting it out and starting new. Take advantage of the new year. Use the momentum and excitement of a new season to make a change in your life and grow into the man/woman that God created you to be. This new year is going to be exciting for The LifeHouse, and I am excited to be a part of it. It is by no accident that we are here for this time in this place!!!

Happy New Year everyone! What I am most thankful for is that I will not have to hear "Last Christmas I gave you my heart but the very next day you gave it away...." for a whole year.
